Freedom High School, also known as Freedom-South Riding, is a public secondary school located in the Washington, D.C. suburb Chantilly (South Riding), an unincorporated community in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. Campus is 25 miles west of Washington, D.C. and located off of U.S. Route 50 just over the Fairfax County border. It is part of Loudoun County Public Schools and is on 25450 Riding Center Drive, Chantilly (South Riding), VA 20152 Another Freedom High School is located in adjoining Prince William County which shares the same mascot and colors. To avoid confusion with Freedom High of Woodbridge (Prince William County), rumors were that the school would be known as the John S. Mosby High School Grey Ghosts after the name of nearby U.S. Route 50 and commander in the American Civil War. There was also serious consideration of changing the nickname/mascot to the Flyers because of nearby Washington Dulles International Airport. It is unknown if the name of the school will be changed in the future. The school opened on August 29, 2005. ==Demographics== In 2010-2011, Freedom's student body was 52% White; 15% Black; 23% Asian; 10% Hispanic.
